Founded in 2011, GIE CM Services is an IT consortium that manages all technology projects on behalf of its member Crédits Municipaux. The Crédits Municipaux are independent public social aid institutions whose primary offering is pawn lending. They also provide a varied range of services including personal loans, solidarity savings, auction sales, everyday banking and financial guidance. GIE CM Services is headquartered in Mérignac, in the Gironde, and pools the IT resources and infrastructure of its member institutions.
In line with the new regulations set by the European Parliament and the European Commission, which require banks to offer instant payments to their clients from January 2025 for receiving and October 2025 for sending, the Groupement d’Intérêt Économique CM Services (GIE CM Services) has chosen SBS Payments. The strategic aim of this decision is to comply with these regulations by getting ahead of implementation across the teams in order to be operational by the end of 2024.
This collaboration with SBS gives GIE CM Services a significant advantage through the deployment of a new SaaS solution connected to their central banking system, enabling them to manage instant payments across their seven member institutions simultaneously, with SBS experts supporting them throughout the implementation process.

Faced with new European regulatory obligations requiring banking institutions to offer instant payments — for receiving from January 2025 and for sending from October 2025 — GIE CM Services needed a solution capable of meeting that tight timeline while covering all seven of its member institutions at once. The complexity of the situation stemmed from the very nature of the GIE: the task was not to equip a single institution with a new capability, but to deploy a shared solution across several independently operating Crédits Municipaux. By choosing SBS Payments in a SaaS configuration connected to the existing central banking system, GIE CM Services gave itself the means to meet its regulatory commitments while strengthening operational efficiency for the benefit of all its members.
