London, September 10, 2026 — SBS, a global software company helping banks and the financial services industry reimagine how to operate in an AI-driven world, today announces that Marsden Building Society has signed an agreement to deploy SBS Digital Branch, a cloud-native branch servicing platform purpose-built for UK building societies and mid-tier banks.
Marsden Building Society has chosen SBS Digital Branch to modernise its branch operations and transform the way it serves members. Accessible through a tablet-based interface with no reliance on on-site hardware, the platform enables colleagues to deliver a consistent and connected experience across branches, community locations and mobile services, supported by a single, real-time view of each member relationship.
Built in direct partnership with UK building societies, SBS Digital Branch reflects the regulatory requirements and community-focused nature of the mutual sector. For the Marsden, the move to Digital Branch modernises the traditional branch teller deployment in today’s current branch locations, whilst providing options to support face to face engagement under new operating models for retailing branch services in the workplace and shared spaces within communities. Member engagement is increased through a single customer view, a move from service as a transaction to an informed and personalised conversation
The platform embeds auditability and regulatory controls directly into everyday servicing workflows, helping the Marsden meet compliance requirements while staff focus on what matters most: meaningful member relationships.
“Our vision is to build something better for our customers, colleagues and communities. SBS Digital Branch will help us modernise the way we serve members, providing colleagues with better tools and information to support more personalised conversations and better outcomes. Importantly, it also creates greater flexibility in how we deliver face-to-face services, helping us explore new ways of supporting local communities whilst retaining the personal service that remains at the heart of the Marsden,”
said Julia Brook, Chief Customer Officer, Marsden Building Society
“Marsden Building Society exemplifies what it means to be a modern mutual – deeply rooted in its communities while embracing new ways to serve members. SBS Digital Branch was designed specifically for organisations like the Marsden, enabling them to deliver a consistent, compliant and highly personal service wherever members choose to engage. We are delighted to support the Marsden as it continues to modernise its branch operations and creates flexible foundations for further growth,”
said Paul Walton, General Manager at SBS.
The agreement was signed on 30 June 2026, with deployment expected to begin in 2027. Once implemented, SBS Digital Branch will help simplify the Marsden’s technology estate, reducing operational complexity and supporting greater efficiency across its managed service environment.
