What’s the main goal of the BMW Move to Cloud Programme you are working on?
The goal is to move BMW Financial Services’ SFP-Wholesale Servicing system — which is currently hosted on internal servers (“on-premise”) — to a SaaS (“Software as a Service”) model.
This means the system will no longer be hosted and maintained directly by BMW, but by SBS on AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud infrastructure.
With this migration, BMW will access its system online, as a service, without having to manage the underlying technical infrastructure (servers, maintenance, updates, etc.) themselves.
It’s a major shift that will allow BMW to benefit from greater flexibility, improved performance, and reduced operational costs associated with hosting and maintaining IT systems.
How is the programme structured?
The project is planned over two waves. Switzerland and France are part of Wave 1 and will go live in 2025. Then, in 2026, we’ll move into Wave 2 with the CS Hub, Germany, and the UK/Ireland. It is running across two years with stakeholders spread across regions and departments.
Why is this project key for SBS?
BMW is a high-priority client. Successfully delivering this migration strengthens our partnership and demonstrates our capability to manage complex SaaS transitions. It’s also aligned with SBS’s strategy to move clients onto the cloud-hosted head version of SFP-Wholesale Servicing — so the stakes are high, but the rewards are equally impactful.

What does your role as Project Manager entail on a day-to-day basis?
My job is all about coordination, communication, and delivery. I manage the timeline, budget, and scope, while ensuring the work meets quality standards. I also engage closely with both internal and external stakeholders to keep everyone aligned and informed. It’s a very collaborative role that requires a lot of adaptability.
Have there been any challenges so far?
Absolutely. One of the biggest challenges in project management is balancing priorities — time, cost, scope, and quality — while navigating shifting requirements and resource constraints. You need strong leadership and stakeholder buy-in to move through those complexities successfully.
What do you enjoy most about the job?
I really enjoy the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of project work. Every day presents a new challenge. I also like collaborating with a wide variety of people, and continuously developing my communication and leadership skills. Being able to guide a team toward a common goal is something I find genuinely fulfilling.
Have you had a project that’s really stood out to you?
Yes — My first BMW project at SBS was especially fascinating, as it marked a significant transition from banking to the software world. I had to rapidly learn new processes and absorb technical knowledge. Fortunately, I was surrounded by highly knowledgeable SMEs, some of whom had been working with BMW for years. Their expertise and insights were invaluable in helping me get up to speed quickly.
Can you share a memorable moment so far?
One standout moment was going to Munich for the programme kickoff at BMW’s headquarters. After working remotely for months, it was refreshing to finally meet our stakeholders face-to-face. It really helped build trust and solidify working relationships. That in-person connection made a huge difference as we launched into the next phase of the project.
What kind of impact does your work have on SBS more broadly?
Beyond the financial value, delivering this project successfully sets a strong precedent for future cloud migrations. It also reinforces SBS’s role as a transformation partner to major clients. Plus, as we bring more clients to our cloud-native platforms, we’re helping shape the future of fintech — something I’m proud to be part of.
Looking ahead, what are your aspirations — for your work, your team, or the industry?
Short-term, I’m focused on ensuring a smooth Wave 1 rollout. Long-term, I want to help more clients transition to scalable, modern platforms. I’m also passionate about encouraging more women to enter the fintech space — I believe diverse teams drive better outcomes, and I want to see more representation across the industry.
How are you helping to open more doors for women in fintech?
As a woman in tech, I’ve always felt a strong drive to make things more efficient and easier through innovation. I’m always looking for ways to improve processes, solve problems, and create solutions that make a real impact. I also want to inspire the next generation of women in tech given there is more male representation. During my career I have mentored some female graduates new to the financial / tech industry which has been rewarding to share my experiences & offer guidance. By helping each other, we can create a more inclusive and diverse tech world.
